Desire

Things I want to do…in no particular order other than the random succession that they enter my brain.

Visit every continent. Have the lead role in a successful feature film. Have my own webpage – a cool one.  Get a degree. Learn another language. Be an advice columnist. Raise a large amount of money for charity. Have sex in a public place.  Learn how to sword fight. Be an ambassador for Unisef or the likes. Get really slim – a little on the skinny side when people say “she should stop loosing now”.
Cash a big pay cheque and blow it on something frivolous. Visit a hill tribe to learn their way of life. Get married. Have a family. Dance on a bar and know all the moves to Coyote Ugly. Get my Diploma in Counselling. Go away on holiday with a huge group of friends.  See the 7 wonders of the world. Go to my own premier and be the star. Watch my mum fall in love. Buy my own house. Have a book published. Be interviewed by Fearne Cotton. Grow old gracefully. Go to a huge festival and spend the whole time drunk. Spend time at an elephant sanctuary. Be in love forever>and be loved back. Throw a hard punch. Learn what spices are missing from recipes just by the taste – Yeah right like this one is going to materialize. Be a success- more to the point feel a success. Get good at vintage shopping. Be able to complete a crossword puzzle. Learn the world map. Throw a massive house party. Jump down a waterfall (safely). Attend my brothers wedding. Be content with the hand that has been dealt.

Sail among the stars

He left on a 9-o-clock ship,
With inky black sails,
Set forth into the deep blue,
The ropes were drawn,
The anchor broke free,
This ship is set to sail,
Its course is clear,
Yet it does not sail the waves,
Its path is high,
Sailing steady, fast and clear,
Deep beyond into the night’s sky,
He is set to sail among the stars,
The captain of this ship,
And this night’s course is set for her,
He is sailing to thee.

Goodbye Grandpa, sail among the stars,
Be happy and let your soul be free.
